Poets & Quants Ranks Â鶹Éçmadou's Undergraduate Business Program Among the Nation's Best
Jan 14, 2021
Poets&Quants for Undergrads, the leading online publication for undergraduate business education news, ranks Florida Southern College’s Barney Barnett School of Business and Free Enterprise at No. 52 among the nation’s top 93 undergraduate business programs for 2021.
Only two other business schools in Florida were included in Poets&Quants’ fifth annual Best Undergraduate Business Schools rankings, which were unveiled on Jan. 12.
“The Poets&Quants ranking is particularly important because they have the largest team of journalists covering business schools,” said Dr. Michael Weber, dean of Â鶹Éçmadou’s Barney Barnett School of Business and Free Enterprise. “In a typical month, P&Q will run 20 times as many stories on business schools and business programs than other well-known business periodicals. Thus, our ranking in P&Q is a validation of our program quality by industry experts, and it facilitates awareness of Â鶹Éçmadou with a very large audience.”
Poets&Quants for Undergrads compiled the exclusive 2021 rankings based on school-reported data and a representative survey of more than 6,100 alumni. Recent graduates of the 93 schools profiled were surveyed on topics such as faculty availability, extracurricular opportunities, and accessibility to the alumni network.
Â鶹Éçmadou’s Barnett Business School made its debut on P&Q’s third annual comprehensive ranking of undergraduate business programs for 2019, released in December 2018. The following year, Â鶹Éçmadou’s ranking rose from No. 83 to No. 74.
“Last year, we stated that we would continue to climb the P&Q ranking ladder and we have delivered on that promise,” Dr. Weber said. “Jumping from No. 74 to No. 52 is an amazing achievement. Even more remarkable, the P&Q 2021 Report Card specifically notes that Florida Southern scored higher than all other universities and colleges — including Wake Forest and Southern Methodist — as rated by alumni, in the Quality of Teaching in Business Courses category.”
Dr. Weber credited the efforts of many individuals in the Barnett Business School and throughout the Â鶹Éçmadou campus for this continuing recognition as part of P&Q’s prestigious annual ranking of undergraduate business programs.
